Wat do all those numbers on my website statistics page mean?

Websiteonthephone.com provides comprehensive website statistics that enables you to find out more about the visitors to your site. Here's what some of those numbers mean.

  • Visits - this is the number of unique visitors that have visited your website during the reporting period. E.g. if you see that there were 130 unique visits to your site in January it means that 130 new visitors came to your site during that month. This does not include repeat visits by the same visitor.

  • Pages - this is the number of pages that visitors opened at your site during the reporting period. E.g. if you see that there were 15000 page views on your site in January it means that 15000 pages were opened by visitors to the site during that month and this includes repeat views of pages.

  • Hits - this is the number of page elements that have been viewed by visitors to your website during the reporting period. E.g. if you see that there were 35000 hits to your site in January it means that 35000 page elements (page elements include text, graphics, Flash animation etc) have been downloaded by visitors to your site.
